Re: Recent Acts of Violence
To: All campus
May 27, 2022
To the campus community:
This has been a month of tragedies across the nation. In Buffalo, N.Y., in Orange County, and now in Uvalde, Texas our consciences have been shocked by the inhumanity of these events. We join the nation in its mourning.
Our leaders must come together on meaningful action and reform. As we continue to grapple with these senseless acts of violence that destroy families and communities, we need to devise solutions that unify us, not continue to polarize and divide us - we must be united. Indeed, our shared future depends upon it.
Please take care of yourselves and each other and utilize the resources below, which are always available to the campus community, should you need them.
Sincerely,
Juan Sánchez Muñoz, Ph.D.
