UC Merced’s men's and women's soccer team's invite everyone out to an inaugural double-header on the newly unveiled Bobcat Field.
The games are presented by the Merced Mall and begin at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3. Bring the whole family for free kettle corn, face-painting, T-shirt throws, free sunglasses for children and a post-game autograph session for Bobcats fans. Visitors can also talk to staff members about participating in a half-time water-balloon toss.
Second-year Head Coach Hannah Brown and the women’s soccer team lead off by hosting Multnomah University for the first matchup between the two schools. The 23rd-ranked men's soccer team follows with a match against Oregon Institute of Technology at 3 p.m. The team is looking to pick up its ninth at-home win out of the past 11 games, dating back to last season.
General admission is $5, but youth 12 and younger get in free. UC Merced undergraduate students will also receive free entry with their CatCards. Complete ticket information can be found online .
Labor Day marks the second home game of the season for each Bobcat team. The men defeated No. 22 Westmont College on Aug. 22, while the women open up at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, against Holy Names University on Bobcat Field. Visit UC Merced Athletics for the complete game schedule.
