Re: We Remember
To: All campus
Sept. 25, 2020
Dear Campus Community,
The killing of Breonna Taylor, and subsequent prosecutorial decisions, mark another in a series of painful episodes for America, resonating across countless lives and communities, and indeed we are reminded of and affirm our commitment that Black Lives Matter.
Breonna’s Life Matters.
We join with those who call out for equal justice under law for all people, regardless of race, gender, economics or birth. We are disheartened by actions and decisions that compound a family’s misery and contribute to our nation’s divisions.
We will say and remember Breonna’s name, with equal parts sadness, anger, and hope that we, and our children, and our children’s children will one day live in a nation where systemic insensitivity and ignorance are not our daily lived experience.
